EJIGBO, LAGOS STATE
The Executive Chairman of Ejigbo Local Council Development Area (LCDA), Aare Taoheed Adebayo Taiwo, popularly known as TAT, has appealed for calm and restraint following a reported confrontation between residents of Ejigbo and personnel of the Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service.
The chairman’s appeal was contained in a statement issued by the Public Affairs Unit of Ejigbo LCDA, in which he urged all parties involved to remain peaceful and refrain from actions that could escalate tensions within the community.
TAT stressed the need for dialogue, mutual understanding and respect for constituted authorities, noting that peaceful engagement remains essential to resolving disagreements and sustaining harmonious relationships between residents and public institutions.
He also underscored the importance of cooperation between community members and emergency responders, particularly during emergencies when the protection of lives and property must take precedence over disagreements.
According to the chairman, effective collaboration between residents and emergency service personnel is crucial to ensuring public safety and enabling responders to carry out their duties efficiently.
TAT reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to promoting peace, safeguarding public welfare and fostering peaceful coexistence across Ejigbo. He urged both residents and fire service personnel to pursue constructive engagement in resolving the reported disagreement.
The council chairman further cautioned against allowing misunderstandings to disrupt emergency response operations, emphasising that all parties have a shared responsibility to maintain a safe and orderly environment.
The appeal forms part of the council’s call for calm and constructive engagement aimed at preventing further tension and strengthening relations between the Ejigbo community and emergency response personnel.
